In a major step towards multi-planetary travel, Elon Musk’s SpaceX on Thursday conducted successful flight test of world’s largest rocket system, Starship.

Informing about the success, SpaceX tweeted, “Congratulations to the entire SpaceX team on an exciting first integrated flight test of Starship!

With a test like this, success comes from what we learn, and today’s test will help us improve Starship’s reliability as SpaceX seeks to make life multi-planetary.

Teams will continue to review data and work toward our next flight test.”

Starship rocket system took maiden flight test from Starbase at Brownsville in Texas.

It is designed to carry crew and cargo to earth’s orbit, aid return to the Moon, and travel to Mars among other space expeditions on a fully reusable transport system.

Even NASA is closely looking at the first flight test as the international space agency is relying heavily on its success for missions to the Moon and Mars.

The SpaceX team has already completed sub-orbital flight tests at Starbase in Brownsville.

The Starship will start flight testing from the world’s tallest rocket launch and catch tower at Starbase as the 146m tall system need support for Super Heavy Rocket Booster.
