UK Local Elections 2023: Get Photo Identification by 25 April for casting vote on 4 May

As UK Local elections 2023 are scheduled to be held on 4 May, the government on Thursday urged voters to get photo identification by 25 April to be able to elect candidates in 230 local authorities.

As many 8,000 council seats will be up for grabs in 152 District, 46 Unitary and 32 Metropolitan authorities in UK Local elections 2023.

With only two weeks left for elections, the UK is asking people to check if they have photo identification ready to be able to cast their votes.

If you don’t have any, then you can apply for free voter authority certificate.

UK Local elections 2023 are the largest since 2019 when Theresa May was at the helm of power in the country and these are being considered as test of political opinion ahead of general elections.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak led UK government is eagerly awaiting the outcome of local elections as it will give a hint at future outcomes for his party.
