Viral Today: Guam’s birds gobbling snake baffles scientists with tree climbing lasso technique
New York
Brown Tree Snake which is responsible for gobbling up almost all native Guam bird species, has baffled the scientists with its tree climbing lasso technique.
The lasso technique was evolved by the invasive Brown tree snake to reach its prey that was kept in a box above a poll on a slippery cylindrical pipe.
The measure was being tested as a means to protect native birds but the neurological ability to solve the puzzle has left scientists in awe.
The exercise was conducted in 2016 when America’s Guam state scientists decided to place the bird nests high above the ground on a cylindrical pipe, in a bid to protect the remaining bird species and monitored it on CCTV cameras.

But they were shocked by the technique applied by one of the Brown tree snakes who coiled himself around the pole and then crosses itself over to create a Lasso.
The snake then makes upward propulsions to slither upwards on the pole one centimeter per second in what seems to be ‘huffing and puffing’ as it took over 15 minutes to reach the prey.
One US snake expert even claimed that no human technology can ever come to what this creature is doing.

The nocturnal snake was caught on camera by coiling around the pole while slithering under it, making a Lasso-like pattern and it took the snake 15 minutes to reach the top to hunt its prey.
