Viral Today: A Shitty Message To Protect Oceans From Plastic Dumping

Sydney

The residents and tourists at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia woke up to a shitty message, a 14-feet plastic poop, on conserving the environment and guarding oceans against plastic dumping.

The giant plastic poop was placed on Bondi Beach by The Better Packaging Co to raise awareness about plastic reaching our oceans and the solution it has found to curb it.

The company has come up with a new idea of Pollastic which collects and recycles ocean-bound plastic.

The company says that as most of the plastic that reaches oceans comes from South East Asian countries, it is being collected from these locations and used to prepare packaging materials.

As per a study, ocean-bound plastic comes from developing countries that don’t have a proper network of waste collection or disposal.

The study ranks the Philippines as the number one country from where the highest quantity of plastic is washed down by rivers in torrential rains into the ocean every year.
