The US Embassy and its Mission offices in India on Thursday achieved the milestone of issuing 5 lakh visas to Indian nationals in May 2023.

With this, the US Embassy has achieved half of its fixed target of issuing 10 lakh visas to Indians in 2023.

The US Embassy officials celebrated the milestone in style with the US Bureau of Consular Affairs Principal Assistant Deputy Secretary Hugo Rodriguez reaching India to facilitate the staff.

Commenting on the development, Rodriguez said, “I’m so excited to be the person to announce that US Mission India has processed half a million visas. Halfway to our mission of million goal (in 2023).

Our consular teams in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata are working hard to process a million applications by the end of the year.

The governments of the United States and India continue to strengthen the connections between Americans and Indians because we are better together.

Join us in our mission for million,” Rodriguez added.

It is worth mentioning here that the US Embassy has earlier announced student visa appointments from mid-May and has issued guidelines for aspiring candidates.
