The United States government has condemned Hamburg shooting that killed eight persons including an unborn child in an attack on prayer house in Germany.
US Department of State spokesperson Ned Price said the American government ‘strongly condemns the senseless act of violence that occurred at a Jehovah’s Witnesses hall in Hamburg, Germany, which resulted in several fatalities and injuries.
“Our condolences are with the victims and their loved ones during this difficult time.
No one should have to fear for their safety while attending a place of worship. Such acts of violence have no place in any society. We stand in solidarity with the people of Germany and pledge our support to assist as needed,” he added.
It is worth mentioning here that the attacker, Philpp F, opened from his semi-automatic pistol at the people, around 50, killing eight persons including a pregnant woman before shooting himself at Jehovah Witness Place in Hamburg.
Philipp, a former member of Jehovah Witness, had allegedly quit the religious group a few weeks back, reportedly not on good terms. Several others have suffered injuries in the attack and as per German authorities, the number of fatalities may rise.
