US calls on Israel to uphold commitments to two-state solution
Washington DC
The United States government on Thursday called on the Israeli government to uphold commitments made in past discussions for two-state solution to the Palestine issue.
The points were raised by US Secretary of State Antony J Blinken during talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
US Department of State spokesperson Mathew Miller said Blinken spoke with PM Benjamin Netanyahu and held discussions on various issues of mutual interest.

The discussions were focused on Israel’s expansion and deepening integration into the Middle East by normalizing relations with these countries.
Blinken also stressed on the need to uphold commitments made in Aqaba and Sharm-El-Sheikh to avoid measures that undermine the pre-decided two-nation solution.
However, he also underlined US’ firm commitment to Israel’s security as part of the 75-year-old partnership and threats posed by neighbouring nation of Iran.
