In what seems to effects of The Kashmir Files film that highlighted the murders of Kashmiri pandits in 90s, the Jammu & Kashmir cops will probe the series of murders leading to exodus of the community from the valley.

The J&K Police’s Special Investigation Agency has announced opening of the murder of retired judge Neelkanth Ganjoo who was allegedly killed by Pak-backed Islamic militants in 1989.
As per sources, the J&K cops will reopen probe into cases of Kashmiri pandits murders starting with Ganjoo and has even sought help from general public.
The cops have even launched a helpline number 88990-04976 and email id sspsia-kmr@jkpolice.gov.in for any info on the conspiracies leading to the targeted killings.
The cops are seeking direct or indirect knowledge of events that led to the retired judge’s murder to unveil larger conspiracy behind the targeted killing.

Ganjoo’s killing was one in the series of murders that led to exodus of Kashmiri pandits, one of the largest in the history of independent India.
Ganjoo, a former sessions and district court judge, was allegedly singled out and killed for presiding over the trial of JKLF founder Maqbool Bhat.
