Special camps to issue Ayushman Bharat-Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana E-Cards in Punjab

To provide health cover maximum people, Punjab State Health Agency to organise special camps to issue Ayushman Bharat— Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana E-Cards on the directions.
The camps are being organised on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to the eligible beneficiaries from May 24, 2023 onwards.
This initiative is aimed at imparting quality health services to the people as desired by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh.
Highlighting the significance of the scheme, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of State Health Agency Babita said it offers cashless treatment upto Rs 5 lakh in over 900 government and private empanelled hospitals.
The scheme offers access to around 1600 types of treatments, including knee replacements, heart surgeries, cancer treatments etc, she added.
The premium cost for 16.65 lakh Socio-Economic Caste Census-2011 (SECC-2011) beneficiary families is being shared by the Central Government and State Government in 60:40 ratio. While remaining 27.38 lakh beneficiary families are fully covered by the State (State Treasury & Departments).
As of now, approximately 79 lakh beneficiaries have received e-cards under this scheme, she said.
She appealed to the public to take maximum benefit of these camps and obtain their beneficiary cards to avail free health treatment under the scheme.
She also asked beneficiaries to bring their Aadhaar cards and proof of family, along with documents including family declaration form, ration card, labor card, etc.
Meanwhile, the scheme encompasses farmers, small traders, smart ration card holders, registered workers, SECC Data families, and registered journalists.
