Sam Beckett is UK’s new Chief economic Adviser

Sam Beckett, Second Permanent Secretary in Office for National Statistics, was on Wednesday appointed as the new Chief Economic Adviser of Britain.
Her appointment was cleared by the Cabinet Secretary after getting approval from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chancellor Jeremy hunt.
Sam Beckett will replace Clare Lombardelli and she will head the Government Economic Service.
Commenting on her appointment, Beckett said “I am incredibly honoured to be chosen for a role at the heart of the UK economy.
I look forward to joining a strong team of officials as we further bolster economic prosperity for the whole of the UK.”
She had completed PPE at Oxford’s New College and an M.Sc in Economics from London School of Economics.
