Rishi Sunak, Emmanuel Macron discuss Ukraine war, China’s economic threat

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Saturday met French President Emmanuel Macron at G7 Summit in Hiroshima and discussed Ukraine war and economic threat posed by China.
The two leaders expressed solidarity on Russia’s war against Ukraine and discussed collective approach to economic threat posed by China.
Sunak and Macron discussed way to support Ukraine in war against Russia which included military, security assistance and agreed to remain in close contact before NATO Summit.
They also discusses way and joint mechanism to tackle illegal immigration via English Channel and further build on commitments made in UK-France Summit held in March this year.
They also vowed to deliver on promises and package during the summit to stop illegal boat crossing and action against smugglers that lure vulnerable people.
In discussions held in the day on economic security at G7 Summit, they highlighted cooperation on online safety and emerging technologies.
