Puri-Gangasagar train service to commence operations from 28 April

To showcase India’s rich cultural and religious heritage to domestic and foreign travelers, the Indian government will launch Puri-Gangasagar Divya Kashi Yatra train on 28 April.
The train is part of the government’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ campaigns under Bharat Gaurav tourist trains.
“Indian Railways will launch Puri-Gangasagar Divya Kashi Yatra train on 28 April from Pune for pilgrims,” a government official said, adding it is already fully booked.
Puri-Gangasagar train will offer a 10 days/9 nights tour of famous religious destinations of Puri, Kolkata, Gaya, Varanasi and Prayagraj.
It will cover Jangannath Puri Temple, Konark Temple, Lingraj Temple at Puri, Kali Bari at Kolkata and Ganga Sagar, Vishnu Pad Temple and Bodh Gaya at Gaya, Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ganga Ghat at Varanasi and Triveni Sangam at Prayagraj.
The official said IRCTC will operate services on the route and offer exclusive LHB rake of Bharat Gaurav Train, complete on-board and off-board meals.
Puri-Gangasagar train consist of 7-Sleeper Class Coaches, 3 AC-3 Tier and 1 AC- 2 Tier coach in Economy, Comfort and Deluxe categories.
It will accommodate 750 passengers per train with the majority of seats in economy category and the starting ticket price for journey is Rs 15,900.
“Railways is all set to welcome the followers of Sanatan Dharma to travel on the beautiful spiritual journey and rediscover oneself on the path of righteousness and piousness,” Indian government spokesperson added.
