Punjabi language to remain compulsory subject in Panjab University B.A. courses, affiliate colleges

Panjab University on Friday made it clear that Punjabi language will remain a compulsory subject in its B.A. courses and in its affiliated colleges.
A PU spokesperson said, “It is clarified that the issue regarding teaching of Punjabi language in the B.A. Courses in the Panjab University and its affiliated Colleges, the subject will be taught same way as it is being taught right now.
“It will be a compulsory subject in all the six semesters with six periods in a week,” informed PU Spokesperson. It is further clarified that the students who have studied Punjabi till Class 10th, he/she will study Punjabi compulsory subject as is being done right now.

Further, it is also clarified that the students who have not studied Punjabi till class 10th, he/she will study History of Culture of Punjab.
