Punjab Department of Medical Education & Research (DMER) will collaborate with Consocia Advisory/Stryker India to enhance the healthcare landscape.

To work on the goal, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Punjab Medical Education & Research Minister Dr Balbir Singh.

The primary goal of this collaboration is to foster innovation and progress in the healthcare sector.

By combining their respective strengths and expertise, the partnership seeks to address challenges, capitalize on opportunities, and make a meaningful impact on patient care and research.

The initial focus of this collaboration will be on stroke and brain attack treatment, particularly in the Government Medical Colleges across the state.

Singh said the MOU will play a crucial role in producing high-quality medical professionals and specialists to promote research activities in medical colleges.

“The collaboration is aimed at improving medical education and training, contributing to the development of specialized doctors in various fields of medicine,” he added.

The Minister highlighted the state’s commitment to identifying and promoting the best medical innovations for stroke treatment.

Specifically, they plan to introduce the latest intervention, mechanical thrombectomy, as an alternative to conventional stroke treatments. This intervention is expected to enhance patient outcomes.

Additionally, both parties have agreed to establish an awareness and capacity-building program.

This program will provide training to medical practitioners, doctors, and interventionists, thus contributing to the growth of expertise in the medical community.

This partnership also underscores the state government’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and affordability for the general public.
