Punjab government on Saturday ordered to ramp-up C-Pyte camps for imparting training to the youth aspiring to join military and paramilitary forces.
The orders were passed by Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora.
Arora directed the department officials to conduct a survey to check the feasibility to further expand C-Pyte (Centre for Training & Employment of Punjab Youth) camps in the state.
Chairing a review meeting Arora asked Director General C-Pyte Maj Gen (Retd) Rambir Singh Mann to revamp existing C-Pyte camps for which required budget will be allocated.
“Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government is striving hard to provide employment opportunities to the youth.
“C-PYTE can play a pivotal role in imparting training to youth aspiring to join the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF),” he added.
He also reviewed the functioning of Punjab Skill Development Mission and said the main aim is to enable youth to take up industry-relevant skill training to help them in securing a better livelihood.
Arora reiterated that the main focus should be on bridging the gap between skilled manpower and industry requirements.
He instructed the officials to start the training courses according to needs of industry so that skilled youth don’t have to face any hardship to get jobs.
