Punjab makes security arrangements for safe passage to Amarnath Yatra pilgrims

In order to ensure safe passage to Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, Punjab cops increased vigil for ease of access on Shambhu Border to Phillaur, Bhogpur, and Pathankot to Lakhanpur Barrier.



Punjab Special DGP Arpit Shukla on Monday held a meeting with Police, Army, Civil administration along with other agencies to ensure full-proof arrangments.

Shukla discussed camp security, the establishment of a resilient communication network, a meticulous plan for traffic regulation along the national highway and other thoroughfares.

Shukla asked officials to make adequate arrangements for parking and security deployment on four Amarnath Yatra routes.

The routes are Shambhu Border to Phillaur, Phillaur to Bhogpur, Bhogpur to Pathankot, and Pathankot to Lakhanpur Barrier.



Shukla reiterated the close coordination among Police, Army and Civil officials and said effective planning and mechanisms should be put in place for smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

He called for special attention to vulnerable areas and advised for following standard operating procedure to handle exigencies.
