Punjab launches mobile app to keep online record of tree plantation drives

Punjab government on Monday launched a mobile app, ‘Hara-Punjab, Rangla-Punjab’ to keep online records of trees planted during afforestation drives.
After the launch of the mobile app, Punjab Local Government Minister Balkar Singh said a target of planting 2.25 lakh native plants has been fixed for this year.
The native trees will be planted in all Urban Local Bodies to enhance greenery in Punjab’s towns and cities.

Stressing care of planted saplings after the afforestation drives, Singh said online planted trees record and progress will be kept through ‘Hara-Punjab, Rangla-Punjab’ mobile app.
He appealed to all the residents of Punjab to come forward and take part in the Local Government department’s initiatives for ensuring greenery and trees in cities.
He reiterated Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led the AAP government’s commitment to creating more sustainable and eco-friendly cities to facilitate the residents.

“The mobile app will facilitate monitoring the actual status and progress of the planted plants,” he said while encouraging citizens to actively engage in the initiative.
