Punjab Cabinet approves regularisation of 14,239 teachers

Punjab Cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday gave approval to the regularisation of services of 14,239 teachers.
Of the 14,239 teachers, 6337 teachers have been given relief in experience by the state government, a first-of-its-kind move.
A Punjab government spokesperson said the Cabinet has approved the regularisation of 14,239 teachers who have completed ten years or more in service.
This also includes those teachers who have some gap in regular service of ten years due to one or other reasons.
“Out of these, 7902 teachers are those who have completed ten years or more in service whereas 6337 teachers are those who have gaps in regular service due to unavoidable circumstances.
These teachers will get regular salary, perks and holidays as per the policy of the government,” the spokesperson added.
