Progress must be beyond politics, says Shashi Tharoor as he lauds Vande Bharat trains for Kerala

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday lauded Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for starting Vande Bharat trains for Kerala and said, “Progress must be beyond politics.”
Tharoor welcomed the move of Indian Railways, Tharoor tweeted, “Recalling my tweets of fourteen months ago suggesting #VandeBharat trains for Kerala.
Delighted that @AshwiniVaishnaw has done just that. Looking forward to attending @narendramodi’s flagging off of the first train from Thiruvananthapuram on 25th. Progress must be beyond politics.”
On Tuesday, Vaishnaw has announced first Vande Bharat trains for Kerala which would run between Thiruvanathapuram and Kasargod.
The trains will be flagged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 April during his visit to the Southern Indian state.
Vaishnaw has said that the Indian government plans to connect every state with Vande Bharat trains by May 2023. Over Rs 1,200 crore has been sanctioned to update infrastructure in Kerala and increase the train speed from 70-80 kmph to over 110 kmph.
