New leakage detection tech to solve Delhi’s contaminated water woes

Finding out water leakage in underground pipelines will not be a big deal soon as the Delhi government is employing helium leakage detection technology for easing detection of such faults.
Informing about this, Delhi Water Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said the leakage detection tech will rid citizens’ woes of contaminated water as per the directions of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Bhardwaj on Tuesday inspected the trial of leakage detection at Shahpur Jat and he himself tried his hands at checking the veracity of the tall claims.

There were complaints of contaminated water from the Shahpur Jat area which led to the government employing modern equipment to resolve it, he added.
As noticed in the past, many times drinking water gets mixed with sewage water owing to leakage in underground pipelines, resulting in various health issues.
“To date, visible water leakages were easily detected and rectified while underground ones were hard to find and many pits needed to be dug to find out the exact reason.
This led to wastage of time and money but the newly introduce tech will make timely detection and correction an easy task,” he said.

Bhardwaj added Kejriwal-led AAP government is making sincere efforts to provide clean and adequate water supply to Delhi residents.
