Navdeep Rinwa takes over as UP Election deptt Chief Election Officer

Navdeep Rinwa on Tuesday took over as Chief Election Officer (CEO) of the Uttar Pradesh Election Department.

Rinwa, a 1999 batch IAS officer, was appointed as UP Election Department CEO on the orders of Election Commission of India ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Rinwa has replaced IAS officer Ajay Kumar Shukla as the CEO and his appointment by the ECI is being considered as important decision ahead of the General Elections.

Rinwa is the native of Fazilka in Punjab and he had previously served as the Divisional Commissioner of Aligarh district and as the Commissioner of Ayodhya.

After taking over as UP CEO, Rinwa convened the meeting of Election department officials and reviewed the functioning of the department.
