MLK, Malcom X daughters Bernice, Ilyasah to address Arizona University’s Juneteenth event

Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr and Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X will address Arizona University’s Juneteenth event.

Titled Beyond Legacy: The Next Generation of Justice and Action in the 21th Century, the event is a culmination yearlong celebration of Black People by Arizona University.

It is with noting that Bernice is a strategist and peace advocate while Ilyasah is an award-winning author and educator with both of them being the most sought-after keynote speakers in the world.

The 19 June event at the University of Arizona is the first time that the daughters of two historical figures Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X are speaking together in Arizona.

Bernice works in the ‘Students with King’ program to aware children from elementary to high school about the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.

Her work is carried on under the umbrella of her mother’s ‘Martin Luther King, Jr Center for Non-violent Social Change’ foundation, of which also holds the charge of the CEO.
