King Charles appoints Philip Mounstephen as Bishop of Winchester

King Charles on Thursday gave approval to appoint The Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen as the Bishop of Winchester.



Philip Mounstephen was earlier the Bishop of Truro and he will succeed The Right Reverend Dr Timothy Dakin as Bishop of Winchester following his retirement.

After pursuing studies at Southampton University and Oxford’s Magdalen College, Philip Mounstephen was trained for ministry at Wycliffe Hall.



He had also served his title at St James’, Gerrards Cross and St James’, Fulmer, in the Diocese of Oxford, and was ordained priest in 1989.
