Kejriwal announces Summer Action plan to curb air pollution in Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced Action Plan to curb air pollution in national capital in summer season.
Kejriwal said the most of the air pollution in Delhi is caused by dust in summers for which long and short term measures are being introduced.
“We will deploy mechanical dust sweepers, anti-smog guns and water sprinklers on roads under Public Works department (PWD) in Delhi.
Further, we are developing a mechanism for controlling and curbing fires on landfill sites that will be introduced soon,” he added.
The CM said the government will plant 52 lakh tree saplings in the city and as AAP is now in power in MCD, a joint mechanism will be developed for solid waste management.
The Summer Action has been developed in consultation with 30 departments of Delhi government.
He lauded the AAP government for making improvements air quality in the national capital and there has been more than 30 percent reduction in air pollution.
The fact that air quality has improved in Delhi is also accepted by Indian Parliament, he further added.
