Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said voters of Jalandhar have rejected divisive and negative politics of opposition parties in bypolls.

Instead, they voted in favour of development oriented policies of the AAP led state government, he added.

“The voters of Jalandhar Lok Sabha segment casted votes in favour of schools of eminence, Aam Aadmi Clinics, unprecedented progress and other issues.

While AAP sought votes in the name of development, opposition parties demanded vote on the pretext of caste and sects.

But people of Jalandhar had silenced opposition by giving thumping mandate in favour of the state government,” Mann added.

Mann stated that this victory has filled them with more humility and dedication to serve the masses.

Even as newly elected MP is yet to be sworn in, the government has already chalked out a comprehensive blueprint for Jalandhar’s holistic development.

Bhagwant Mann said he will be visiting Jalandhar tomorrow to fulfil major promises made with people and will hold a cabinet meeting there.

“Punjab is on path of resurgence as the government elected by people is dedicating new projects to people. For the first time the policies are being framed up after due consultations with people.

It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that farmers of Fazilka district have for the maiden time used the water of canal for sowing cotton crop,” he added.

The CM said in a major initiative aimed at saving the power, the government has decided to commence the sowing of paddy across the state in a phased manner.

The paddy sowing will commence from June 10, 16, 19 and 21 in various parts of the state.

The state has been divided in four zones to implement this sowing mechanism in an effective manner.
