Indian students facing repatriation in Canada: Lovepreet Singh gets relief

After concerted efforts of Punjab government and NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on the issue of repatriation of Indian students from Canada, Lovepreet Singh a Punjabi on Saturday got relief.
As per Dhaliwal, the Canadian government has stopped the process of deportation of Lovepreet Singh.
He expressed happiness over the news and said, ‘CM Bhagwant Mann has been keeping an eye on this issue and he had given clear instructions do whatever is required to stop the extradition of 700 Indian students’.

Dhaliwal has also announced free legal aid to Indian students and also wrote letters to the High Commissioner of India (Ottawa, Ontario) Sanjay Kumar Verma and the High Commissioner of Canada (South West, Delhi) Cameron Mackay.
In the letter, the NRI Affairs minister urged them to resolve the issue of Indian students at the earliest.
“So far only one youth has got relief and I will continue to make all efforts until all students’ issues are settled,” he added.
Dhaliwal also thanks Canadian MPs of Punjab origin for coming forward to help Indian students and came forward to help these students.

He has also written letters to these MPs and requested them to take steps to secure the future of these students.
