Indian govt launches Singing Talent Hunt to identify young talent

As grassroots Indian music remains hidden for lack of opportunities, Indian government on Tuesday launching Yuva Pratibha – Singing Talent Hunt to identify and recognise young talent.

Aiming to discover young talent in genres as folk songs, patriotic songs and contemporary songs, Singing Talent Hunt will award top three contestants with cash prize and certificate.

The entries for Singing Talent Hunt have started on 10 May 2023 and youth aspiring to become ‘New India’s’ emerging singer or musician can participate in it, a government official said.

The aspiring young talent can submit their entries on https://innovateindia.mygov.in/ and it is open for all Indian nationals.

However, the contest can only apply for contest in Hindi and English languages only and they need to record a video, he added.

These videos must be sent via Youtube link (unlisted), Google Drive or Dropbox with permission to access it otherwise the entry will stand cancelled.

The first winner will get Rs 1.50 lakh cash prize, 2nd Rs 1 lakh and third Rs 50,000. In addition to three awards, 12 contestants will be awarded with Rs 10,000 cash prize.

The top 3 singers/musicians will be mentored for 1 month and will be granted mentorship stipend.
