India govt releases list Gallantry Award/Service Award 2024
Indian government on Thursday declared the list of Gallantry Award/Service Award 2024 that will be conferred on Police personnel, Home Guards, Fire Service and Jail officials.
A Indian government official said a total of 1132 officials of Police, Fire Service, Home Guard & Civil Defence and Correctional Service have been awarded Gallantry Awards/Service Medals 2024.

The spokesperson said the Indian government has taken many steps in recent years to rationalise and transform the entire award eco-system of various awards.
The government has rationalised and merged 16 Gallantry/Service Medals (for Police, Fire Service, Home Guard & Civil Defence and Correctional Service) into four medals.
These four new awards are President’s Medal for Gallantry (PMG), Medal for Gallantry (GM), President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
