Alleged Hunter Biden texts to Chinese associate: FBI director Wray on Wednesday denies shielding US Prez Joe Biden’s son in US Congressional hearing before House Justice Committee

FBI Director Chris Wray has denied shielding US President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden during a Congressional hearing on alleged laptop story, Covid-19 and suppressing conservative free speech.



Wray faced a serious grilling from the Republican majority House Justice Committee with Rep Matt Gaetz specifically quizzing the FBI director on alleged Hunter Biden’s texts to pressurize him.

In the alleged texts, Gaetz continued to question Wray, and quoted, “I am sitting here with my father and the man next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my directions.”

To this, Wray denied to comment on alleged texts and said, “I am not gonna get into commenting on that.”

Gaetz continued his grilling and called Wray’s behavior ‘suspiciously uncurious’. “Are you protecting the Bidens,” he further questioned, to which he replied, “Absolutely not.”

“The FBI does not or has no interest in protecting anyone politically,” the FBI director added.

It is worth mentioning here the Hunter Biden laptop story refers to a controversial claim made during the 2020 US presidential election, alleging compromising info involving the then-presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The laptop was reportedly dropped off at a computer repair shop in Delaware. An article published in the New York Post, it was claimed that it contained emails and other documents about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and potential conflicts of interest.

Following the publication of the article, major social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, took steps to limit the spread of the story.

The social media platforms had allegedly cited concerns about its sourcing and potential misinformation for adopting the approach.

The laptop story became a topic of discussion during the presidential debates as the then US Prez Donald Trump fire salvos at Joe Biden, who dismissed it as a smear campaign.

Wray also has a hard time in dealing with Rep Mike Johnson who challenged him on US District Judge Terry Doughty’s judgment that directed the FBI to limit its communications with Social Media Platforms.



The judgment, Johnson continued, allegedly passed these directions after the court found that the FBI suppressing conservative-leaning free speech.

He alleged that the FBI pressurized social media platforms to suppress information coming from conservative sources and it was the reason that no one heard of  Hunter Biden’s laptop leaks till the 2020 Presidential elections.

Wray categorically denied the allegations and said the premier investigating agency of the US is not in the business of suppressing or moderating free speech on social media platforms.
