The Himachal Pradesh government on Monday disbanded the recruiting body of HP Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC) Hamirpur with immediate effect after JOA (IT) question paper was leaked by its employee.
The Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor (Media) Naresh Chauhan said the decision shows the commitment of CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to provide corruption free and responsive administration to the people of the state.
It was also apprehended that this malpractice was going on for quite some time and prima facie, it appears that the Commission has not discharged its duties and responsibilities in a transparent manner.
Sukhu led government is committed to ensure zero tolerance against corruption and has taken this historic decision to ensure complete transparency in HPSSC functioning. This would also help in instilling faith of the job seeking youth in recruitment agencies, he added.
Chauhan stated that on CM’s direction, State Vigilance department ADG has constituted an SIT to look into more revelations regarding alleged malpractices in past exams conducted by HPSSC.
The team would be led by DIG SVACB, G Sivakumar and assisted by 3 SPs, 4 Additional SPs and 3 DSPs and other senior officers. They would conduct enquiries/investigations to the allegations and a separate technical team also been constituted to assist on-going investigation in Hamirpur, he further added.
