Haryana: Hissar ESI clerk seeks bribe to release woman’s maternity benefits, arrested

Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday arrested Hisar ESI Clerk for demanding bribe to release a woman’s maternity benefits.

The clerk posted at Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Hisar was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from the complainant.

The ACB has also booked Branch Manager, ESI, Hisar Harikishan on the charges of seeking bribe in lieu of performing official duty.

The Hisar ESI clerk was arrested on the complaint of Jai Bhagwan who alleged that both accused has demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 to release maternity benefits of his wife.

“After verifying the complaint, the ACB formed a raiding team and caught the accused red handed.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on,” an ACB official said.
