The defacing of Lakshmi Narayana Temple has been caught on camera wherein two pro-Khalistan supporters were seen affixing posters on Nijjar’s killing.
The posters allegedly blamed the Indian High Commission in Canada for the assassination of the pro-Khalistan movement’s member, Nijjar.
The posters contain names of the Indian High Commissioner in Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma and consul generals, Apoorva Srivastava and Manish.
Another poster reads, “Canada investigates India’s role in 18th June assassination.”
It is worth noting that Nijjar was shot dead by two unidentified assailants outside a Gurudwara in Surrey on 18 June 2023.
Nijjar was a prominent Sikh leader and he was a staunch supporter of the separate Khalistan state in India for the community.
Canadian authorities had termed it a targeted killing but it is yet to identify suspects or any motive.

This is the fourth such attack by Khalistan supporters on Hindu temples in Canada that were reported in 2023.
Earlier, Ontario’s Swaminarayan Temple was vandalised in April, Mississauga’s Ram Temple in February and Brampton’s temple in January.
