Easy Access: FSSAI to make food safety license app available in regional languages

To ensure ease of access to more than 1.2 crore food businesses in India, FSSAI on Friday announced to make it food safety license application available in regional languages too.

Indian government official said the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will now translate the Food Safety and Compliance System (FOSCOS) web application in Hindi.

This will be followed by food safety licence application’s translation in other regional languages to facilitate Food Business Owners in renewing or procuring new licenses.

“For the purpose of making the food safety ecosystem robust and facilitating wider reach, FSSAI has initiated many user-friendly features in the application.

In the first step, the application will be made available in available in all other regional languages for license and registration purposes. This will also result in a boost in traffic and revenue, expand reachability and deliver a world-class experience,” the official added.

He said the multi-lingual FOSCOS application will also help the food business in better understanding of complaince system and increased participation.

It is worth mentioning here that FOSCOS is a comprehensive system for registration and licensing for FBOs, and a one-point stop with FSSAI for all types of compliances.
