Delhi to use AI solutions to facilitate taxpayers

Delhi government under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership is planning to make use AI solutions to facilitate taxpayers and create tax efficient system for all.
Delhi Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot informed about this after chairing a meeting of Department of Trade and Taxes officials.
“Delhi is vying to become the leading state in tax administration by enhancing convenience to taxpayers through AI-based Solutions.
The Kejriwal-led AAP government is aiming to have the best tax system while working to create an efficient, transparent and convenient for-all system,” he added.
He reviewed the current taxation situation, issues being faced and measures to make it systematic and structured.
He stressed on plugging the existing loopholes while ensuring the ease of convenience while filing the returns.
”Trade and Taxes department plays an important role in the government. The revenue collections of GST and VAT combined was more than Rs 34,000 crore in 2022-23 while this year, we expect remarkable growth in the collection,” he said.
Gahlot stated that the government wants to constantly evolve while making the system more transparent and efficient.
“The plan is to have a well-structured system by adopting the best practices from all the leading states across the country,” the Minister said.
He reiterated that the government is making efforts to deploy IT systems to make tax system more robust, efficient and transparent.
Delhi government is also analyzing work done by other institutions or governments to make tailor-made solutions that will be integrated with existing systems.
