CAPF Constable exam to be held in 13 regional languages

Acceding to the demands of various political parties and students, Indian government on Saturday agreed to hold CAPF Constable (General Duty) exam in 13 regional languages.

A spokesperson of Indian government said the landmark decision has been taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Indian Home Ministry.

Now the CAPF Constable exam will be held in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tami, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani.

This will be in addition to Hindi and English languages in which it is held till date. 

“The historic decision has been taken at the initiative of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to give impetus to participation of local youth in the CAPF and encourage regional languages,” he added.

He stated that the  decision will benefit lakhs of aspiring candidates of CAPF Constable exam in taking the exam in their mother tongue.

Indian Home Minister and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will soon sign an addendum to facilitate the youths and it will be applicable from 1 January 2024 onwards.
