London
The British government on Saturday unveiled the names for nomination as Life Peerages that are approved by the House of Lords Appointments Commission.
A government spokesperson said Shaun Bailey, Ben Gascoigne, Ben Houchen, Ross Kempsell, Charlotte Owen, Kulveer Ranger, and Dan Rosenfield’s names have been cleared by the Commission.
The name will now be forwarded to King Charles III for approval and appointment as Life Peerages are appointed as per the House of Lords Peerage Nomination Bill.

It is worth noting that persons proposed by the Commission under subsection (1) shouldn’t have any
party-political alignment.
To qualify for the purposes of subsection (2) a person must not have in the past two years a member of a registered political party or given public support to a registered political party.
The other criterion adopted in the selection is that the person has not made a financial donation to a registered political party.
