17 states farmers get hands on training on regenerative natural farming practices

Aiming to promote regenerative agriculture through natural farming practices, farmers from 17 states of India were given hands on training at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni.
The 3-day online training was attended by farmers from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and MP among others.
The natural farming concept seems to have making heads turn at international level too as one participant from Mauritius attended the training.
The National Centre for Management of Agricultural Extension (MANAGE), Hyderabad collaborated with UHF to organize the training.
Addressing the participants, UHF Vice Chancellor Prof Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, who has led the natural farming initiative, briefed them about various aspects of natural farming.
The farmers were also briefed about the history, concepts and principles of agroecology.
And on natural farming, its different agronomic and pest-disease control measures, crop intensification, post-harvest management and quality of produce, economics and profitability.
Dr Subhash Chander Verma from UHF and Dr B Renuka Rani, Deputy Director (NRM) from MANAGEalso participated in the training to aware farmers on this ec-friendly agri-technique.
